Bridge over the River Zanskar

For perspective, this trolley was probably 60% bailing wire and the distance across was close to 300 feet. To recalibrate your reference point for cold one might try wading into the Zanskar, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Below, our first video post. Check out the brave face of Indiana Stampe!

  1. Elizabeth looks very happy! I guess at a certain point, you have to accept fate, and say: this thing either holds or gives, might as well enjoy it!

Your posts are making me miss landscape. I am so cut off from it here. We have been getting rain, though. As long as it lasts, I am able to go outside without dying of hives and histamines. The minute it is over, I'll be back in my sealed compartment.

  2. Why do a disproportionate number of posts on this blog make me nauseous?

  3. JD, that's exactly right: embrace fatalism. My success at that is mixed, especially on bus rides over mountain passes, but it seems like it helps if it's quick!

Breego, I think it's a plot. By India's transportation engineers.
